I slowly pulled my feet up from the edge, feeling a sense of unease wash over me. Andy wasn’t wrong, the world is filled with some seriously troubled individuals. “If you really want to get deep about it, they are walking among us. And I’m not just talking about the creep lurking in an alley or the f*cking pervert Doug up the street. I’m talking about the everyday, mundane monster, the ones you pass walking in the park. A monster can be literally anyone, anywhere, at any time,”
I couldn’t help but think about all the times my mother told me not to worry about my nightmares, that they weren’t real
The thought of monsters being real and potentially lurking around every corner was a chilling one. It made me question who and what to trust in this world. It’s easy to forget that there are people out there capable of monstrous acts, hiding in plain sight. Andy’s words served as a reminder to always be aware and vigilant of the potential dangers in the world. Monsters may not always be the traditional, fantasy creatures we imagine, but they are real and they are out there.
